Welcome to RCYC your gateway to the water great racing venue! Talk to us about hosting your event in this Become A Member we’d love to have you on board Meandering turn up and go sailing, it's free Regular Racing Series

For sailors of all ages and abilities, The Royal Cornwall Yacht Club is located within a Grade II listed clubhouse on a 17th century private quayside, the club overlooks spectacular views of Falmouth Harbour, Flushing, Carrick Roads and beyond. The RCYC was formed in 1871, and continues to hold close its traditional values whilst extending a warm welcome to new members.

As a club, we enjoy first class sailing. We host regular club racing as well as world-renowned sailing events. Whilst there is a focus on yacht sailing, we are enthusiastic supporters of dinghy sailing and motor boating interests.

Year round the club runs frequent social events including lectures, tuition and charity fundraising events.

The infection rates in Cornwall are such that we should all remain vigilant and follow current government advice. Although rules are now much more relaxed, continuing to distance, wearing a mask when moving around inside and frequent and thorough hand washing make us all safer.  We appreciate your co-operation.

The Azores and Back Race

Every four years the RCYC organises an ocean race from Falmouth to Ponta Delgada, on the Azores Island of São Miguel. After a brief respite with time to explore some of this beautiful island and plenty of social events, competitors race back to Falmouth.

Open to serious racers and those just looking for an ocean adventure, the race provides a wonderful, truly Corinthian experience and the camaraderie is legendary.

Members may be interested in this consultation. The Department for Transport has launched a public consultation on the use and classification of recreational and personal watercraft. Ourselves and the National Associations are concerned that the paddling community would unintentionally be caught by the new legislation. The proposed definition of ‘watercraft’ currently would include all types of paddle craft, adversely affecting thousands of coastal paddlers. We will therefore be responding to the consultation on behalf of our members to ensure that the proposals don't unintentionally capture the tens of thousands of paddlers who enjoy using our coast. We would encourage any organisations or paddlers who may be affected by these proposals to have their say before the consultation deadline at 23:45 on 1 November. Find out more and respond at 👉https://www.britishcanoeing.org.uk/news/2021/concerning-new-department-for-transport-proposals-at-risk-of-capturing-coastal-paddlers ... See MoreSee Less
