to all those who came to the Champagne and Strawberry event last Sunday and to the Social committee and helpers for organising and preparing the afternoon teas – we raised £390 for the Commodore’s charity – Blind Week sailing – and it was a glorious afternoon!
Quiz Night 18th July 7pm
Quizmasters are the renowned Lyn Sissons and Michelle Atkinson. We need a minimum of 20 quizzers to make the evening viable so please sign up on the list in the bar if you are coming or use the booking link below, otherwise we will have to cancel.
Commodore’s Charity BBQ 5th August 4pm
Brian will be producing another of his legendary BBQ’s for our delight. A bargain at £20 per head, with all profits going to the Commodore’s charity. There will be a cash bar in the marquee and live musical entertainment. The list is now up in the bar or use the link below to book – cash or cheques made payable to ‘RCYC Commodore’s Charity’.
When the Club is open, and there is no other event on, we will be showing the World Cup Football on the large screen on the Upper Deck.
We will be screening the games this weekend on Friday and Saturday so come on down and watch all the action. Come on England!
Beach Clean – Well Beach
Wednesday 11th July 10am
Although at first glance the beach next to the Clubhouse may not look too bad, it is often the smaller items or particles difficult to spot until you get up close that can cause most problems for the marine life. We therefore plan to hold regular clean-up sessions, obviously at low-tide, the first being this coming Wednesday. It should only need 4 or 5 of us for an hour or so. If you are able to help we will meet on the lawn at 10am. I plan to go ahead whatever the weather. Black sacks, gloves and litter pickers will be provided (the latter two are being loaned by the National Trust).
Any questions please contat Pam Cox on 01326 318642.
