Cakes needed – Regatta Day Teas – Thursday 10th August
Please bake a cake for the Sailing Teas to be held in the Marquee on our Regatta Day, Thursday 10th August, Falmouth Week.
This is an annual event and the Club’s chance to put on a really good spread for the competitors, crews and supporting members who will be coming ashore ravenous. All the savoury items are being prepared in advance by members Amy Bennetts and Tracey Chamberlain but we really do need members to help out with those sweeter items. Please get baking! Cakes can be left in the marquee on the day from 1.30pm. Thank you in advance for your help.
If you can help serving the teas on the day it would also be appreciated.
We have some live music booked for the afternoon from 4pm- 6pm so come along, bring friends and family and enjoy the atmosphere!
Do you need crew or are you looking to crew yourself? If so, you may wish to visit our crew register page on the website which is now up and running!
Commodore’s BBQ – Sunday 3rd September at 1pm
This year the Commodore’s BBQ will be a little later than usual in September. Please put the date in your diary NOW. The BBQ will cost £15 and will include a waffle for dessert! All profits from the event will go as usual to the Commodore’s Charities. Let us hope for an Indian Summer!
NEXT Gardening Session –
Wednesday 23 August at 9.30am
Last week the ‘gardeners’ made a big difference to the path up the bank. The recent warm and very humid conditions have really encouraged all the undergrowth to sprout forth. There was a great turn out of volunteers and this enabled us clear the way to the top of the garden. Thank you to all those who turned up and gave their time – both old and new faces. Next session we will be continuing with this work so please come along and give your support. For those who prefer there will also be some less physical jobs around the Clubhouse! The tubs and hanging baskets are looking splendid and a big thank you too to those who are watering and deadheading on a weekly basis.
Please come along on Wednesday 23 August and give a hand even if you can only spare an hour. Dress of the day gloves and sensible footwear and as usual if you have a few hand tools and loppers so much the better. See you there……
