Bar and Catering
It has unfortunately been decided by House Committee that due to the lack of footfall of late, firstly, we shall no longer be offering the 50% deal on food on a Thursday evening. Our chef will however be offering selected dishes at a lower cost on various evenings throughout the week. Secondly, apart from Falmouth week, bar and catering shall no longer be available on Tuesdays during the daytime.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this.
Due to lack of available launch drivers on Sunday, there will be no Launch Service after 1400 on Sunday 11th June. We apologise for inconvenience.
America’s Cup Racing
“We will be back and we will be strongerâ€
Sir Ben Ainslie has come a very long way since he was a schoolboy learning to sail in local waters. Unfortunately he will not be lifting the America’s Cup this year after Land Rover BAR were beaten this week by the Kiwis with a very fast boat and another fine skipper.
But to those of us who wondered what Ben might actually do after his Olympic exploits, well, here’s a fascinating future mapped out : the 36th America’s Cup is in just two years, so the next World Series will start in 2018 and Ben’s team are funded already. The America’s Cup is without doubt an eye-catching way to create new interest in our sport, especially among the young, like local boy Ben himself all those years ago. Already, the sport has the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup in place which provides a fantastic career pathway for young sailors. And it is not just about sailing, but design and technology careers too. This latest chapter and the UK’s part in it, is just beginning.
Meanwhile, the 35th America’s Cup gains momentum with the challenger final and then the cup match itself against holders Team Oracle USA. We will be showing the rest of the action here at the Club so do come in and enjoy the atmosphere and the specially crafted food and drink.
Our thanks to Harry KH at LandRover/BAR for the images.

We were delighted to be able to hold a naming and commissioning ceremony for the Sea Cadets last Saturday, 3rd June. The event was a great success and the Cub has received some very positive comments. Well done to our Bar and Catering team for making sure everything went smoothly.
