Due to our Bosun being taken ill, and possibly out of action for several weeks, we are looking for suitably qualified RYA Powerboat Level 2 operators.
They will need to be able and willing to take on some “Launch Duties” to help Kim, who has agreed to extend his hours at short notice and to be flexible; but he will need some time off! Appropriate induction will be given by Kim to any volunteers.
Please contact David Stewart if you can help – 01326 210397
The Big Weekend is next weekend
Please will all Members try and attend the Club on either the Open Evening next Friday (26th) or Push the Boat Out day next Saturday (27th).
The Open Evening should be a cracker with Club racing, America’s Cup racing live on the Big Screen, and hopefully a number of new faces coming to the Club for the first time to see if we can float their boat.
If you want to print a copy of the poster yourself, it can be found by clicking here.
Don’t miss the America’s Cup!
Showing live at the Club on the big screen
Every race of the America’s Cup will be live on TV at the Club. Be there to support the Club’s favourite son Ben Ainslie as he steers us towards what could be a historic victory. There will be special offers and menus from the bar and catering to help the racing go with a swing. Bring friends and family. Full schedule here www.americascup.com.
The first race is on Friday, 26th May, from 9pm (if you want to be sure of a seat we recommend arriving early!). There will be a personal message from Ben on the Big Screen before the First Race
We would like to invite all those interested in the club’s fledgling Junior Sailing section to join us on the club’s Push the Boat Out event next Saturday (27th May).
The event is on between 11am and 4:30pm & would be a great opportunity for you to come down with your juniors so they can give dinghy sailing a go.
Please make sure they are wearing suitable clothing & are prepared to get wet! It would be helpful, if they have their own kit, to bring it along, but buoyancy aids, helmets & wetsuits can be provided.

A big thank you to all those who responded to the appeal for old sails, there was an excellent response and we have enough now. Arrangements have been made to transport them to the Charity, so no more please.
