Robin Elsey – Offshore Sailor
Talk – Friday, 27 January at 8pm
Robin is a local and extraordinarily successful young offshore sailor who is trying hard to promote Falmouth as a major sailing centre for offshore races. He has lots of very useful experience for anyone contemplating solo offshore racing such as potential AZAB sailors. He has a string of successful races already under his belt including the most recent – 1st Rookie in the Solitaire Du Figaro 2015.
Do come along and hear what he has to say and perhaps bring a friend or two with you.
With effect from the first talk of the year there will be a small charge of £2.50 per person to help offset the cost of speakers. The amount may be paid on the night at the bar. To those of you who may not have been before – food is served from 6.30pm with all talks commencing at 8pm. If you prefer to just come along for a drink and the talk that is fine too. The lists for talks are up in the bar so do put your name down quickly and don’t forget to bring a friend.
Quiz Night – Wednesday 25 January
The first quiz night of 2017 will be hosted by Grant Walker on Wednesday 25 January at 7pm. Everyone welcome – come along and exercise the brain cells with your knowledge of trivia! There is a charge of £1 per person to enter the quiz, which will be the prize money at the end of the evening. Suppers are available to order from the menu board and there are also some nibbles during the first round of the quiz, free of charge.
The Club received a lovely thank you letter from one of our Members, Alistair Paton. Congratulations to Alistair and Chloe who were married last year and held their reception at the Club and well done to our fantastic Bar and Catering team!
