About The Event
The club is delighted to be once again hosting the Prince of Wales Cup after a gap of 17 years. The PoW first came to the club in 1934 – 85 years ago! – and returned regularly for some 70 years until development of the Falmouth waterfront brought an end to berthing of large numbers of visiting dinghies. It was at Falmouth that the trapeze was introduced by Peter Scott and John Winter in 1938 – and promptly banned until 1969 when, fittingly, PoW was again hosted by the club. It is believed that Falmouth has hosted PoW more times than any other venue.
