About Club Cruising
All members are welcome to join our cruising programme. Over the years, the cruising group has met in locations as far afield as the Golfe du Morbihan, South Brittany and Loch Scavaig. We welcome all cruisers to join us. We have a useful scrubbing wall, Club Launch and offer temporary membership for visiting sailors.
Once again, we have a combined RNSA and RCYC programme. We have many members in common and historically have enjoyed many cruises together. Download the 2020 programme.
RCYC cruising is a key element of the social side of the club. There are regular social events throughout the cruising programme. Fitting-Out and Laying-Up Suppers are held each year, together with a selection of other club-based events in the cruising calendar. More about this can be found within our Cruising Calendar.
For more information about this year’s cruising please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
The RCYC cruising trophies are:
- Holman Cup for the best log by club member
- Vage Flagon for the voyage of most merit by club member
At the 2017 AGM, the Holman Cup was presented to Kenneth Robertson and Jenny Thomas for their log entitled “The Saga of Lady Rebel in the West Indies”
The Vage Flagon, awarded for the most meritorious voyage, was presented to Peter Hoggins for “Diamond Days – exploring Newfoundland’s south-west coat”.
Nominations are judged by a panel of experienced cruisers and awarded at the AGM in April.
