From Thursday 1st February we will be offering a new simplified menu which will be available on four days each week and priced at less than £10.00. The menu will change regularly, ensuring that we can offer fresh, seasonal food. The new menu can be seen here.
Our full menu will be available on Saturday every week provided we have a minimum number of bookings. If there are less than 14 people booked in on a Saturday then the new limited menu will be available. (Please phone bar and catering 01326 311105 to book).
When we have a Club function, such as a quiz, talk or sailing event, suppers will be served as normal, and of course our popular Sunday carvery lunches will continue to be available every fortnight.
For our current opening times please visit the website here.
Remember also, that as a member you are able to hire our meeting room, upper deck, oak room and this is available free of charge provided you use the bar and catering service for food and drinks. We have a new projector and screen in the upper deck which is useful for presentations. Whether you wish to use our facilities for your business or for a private party for family and friends please get in touch as we would love to help. Our Bar and Events Manager can be contacted on 01326 311105 or send an enquiry to the office email@example.com.
Chinese New Year – The Year of the Dog
Friday, 16 February 7pm for 7.30pm
If you are one of those members who has been struck down over the Christmas Period with the “Ozzie Flu†or tummy bug and the New Year passed you by …….. or if you just fancy a less formal affair ……… now is your chance to come along and celebrate the Chinese Year instead – The Year of the Dog. The Club is putting on a Chinese Buffet for just £20 per head. The menu will include sweet ’n’ sour chicken breast, pork with black bean and cashew nuts, Szechuan beef strips, stir fried vegetables and lots of rice, noodles and salads. If you have any room for pudding there will be Cinnamon dumplings with honey syrup! The full menu is available to view in the bar.
If you would like to come in costume so much the better but dressing up is not compulsory and dress of the day is smart casual! Bring along a few friends and celebrate with them too. Please put your names down now quickly on the list in the bar.

WALK – Sunday 28 January, 10am
Penrose Hill Car Park – Loe Pool – Bar Lodge – Helston Lodge – Penrose Hill
A round walk through the woods and tracks of the Penrose Estate, with a detour to/from Bar Lodge for Loe Bar. No stiles, under 4 miles, but some of the paths are VERY muddy and appropriate footwear is essential. On the way back from Loe Bar we pass The Stables, where the cafe should be open (no indoor seating). Everyone welcome! Back to the Club for a delicious, well-earned carvery lunch. For more details click here
Then on Friday 2nd March, Mervyn Wheatley, trans-atlantic sailor and AZAB competitor, will be talking about his adventures at sea, including his rescue in 2017 during a north Atlantic storm ‘Atlantic Rescue’.
As usual food and bar are open at 6.30pm and the talks starts promptly at 8pm. There is no charge for the talks. Please add your name to the list in the bar or phone the Club so that we know how many seats to put out! 01326 312126 or 311105.
