Commodore’s Charity BBQ – Sunday 3rd September
Please sign up for the Commodore’s Charity BBQ which is taking place on Sunday 3rd September at 1pm. All profits from the event will go to the Commodore’s Charity, Blind Week Sailing. This is a really great event which we host every two years and it is our turn again in June 2018 when we expect to take around 50 visually impaired sailors out on Club members yachts for a week of sailing. The pictures below show some of the group from 2016.
Friends and family all welcome – the list is now up in the bar or contact the office or bar staff to book your place. The BBQ will cost £15 per person – cash or cheques only please to RCYC Commodore’s Charity.
RCYC Sailing Trust ‘Get on Board’ project
These are just two of the thank you letters we have received from Archbishop Benson Primary School and Penpol School following their boat trip and visit to Pendennis Shipyard in June. They had a fantastic day which was both fun and inspirational and it is lovely to see what a difference this has made to some of these children who do not often get this kind of opportunity.
Thank you to everyone who helped with the organisation. We are hoping to do the same again next year with another group of children!
The folder with all the letters is in the Oak Room if you would like to see it.
If you are not already aware our bar manager Tash is getting married on the 16th September.
In a way of a thank you for looking after us and to wish her all future happiness, there is a card for everyone to sign and to pop a donation in, to send her on a mini moon (short honeymoon) which will be a surprise (the more we get the further we can send her). Nick & Karen Ames are arranging this and the destination will only be revealed on the wedding day.
Karen in the office has the card which you can sign and leave a donation if you wish. Thanking you in advance – please make sure you sign before 15 September!
