Push the Boat Out / Open Day
Saturday 27 May 1100 – 1600
Following the successful RYA workshop run by Tony Wood at the Club, can you help with Push the Boat out Open Day?
We hope to ensure a variety of experiences on this day with dinghies and yachts for any visitors and families. We need cruising boats which can take visitors out for a short trip (children will be accompanied by a responsible adult), we also need people to help ashore organising the flotation devices, tea and buns and administrative tasks.
If you can help please contact Kaye Price – firstname.lastname@example.org or 0781 5533640.
RCYC Safety boat training – Sunday 9 and Monday 10 April
This is on the water training based on the RYA Safety Boat course for dinghies, but adapted to keel boats, to include MOB, towing, searching for casualties, veering down on a beach and so on. It is actually quite good fun. Open to all RCYC Volunteers who have a RYA PBL2 certificate.
RYA Mark Laying Course – Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May
On the water training course run by Neil Andrew.
These courses will only be run if we have enough interest. Please email very quickly to email@example.com if you wish to do this training.
We will also be running RYA VHF Certificate and First Aid courses in the next few weeks. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to do this training.
Congratulations to Jeff Martin
for his Gold Medal from World Sailing (formerly ISAF) for long serving as Chairman of the World Sailing Committee and for making a significant contribution to World Sailing. Jeff, a past Rear Commodore, has supported the RCYC over many years acting as Race Officer for some of our largest and most important sailing events. His generosity to the Club continues by giving his time to run the Flying Fifteen Nationals in Sept/October.
AGM – Thursday 20 April
We hope to see as many of you as possible at the AGM on the evening of the 20th April, and if you want to know those Members who have generously offered to be your representative on the House Committee then please click here or look on the notice board.

Wednesday 19 April at 9.30am
The next gardening session will be held the morning before the AGM. It will be an opportunity to tidy the front beds and environs of the Club and make everything look a little more ship-shape before the big event the following day! If you can spare an hour it would really be appreciated. This will be a low key session so only hand tools and hoes will be needed. Coffee will be provided.
In May the group would like to get to grips with the bank which is getting rather overgrown but this session will be advertised at a later date! Any questions in the meantime please contact Eleanor 01326 318351.
