Racing at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club
Race team management
The race team consists of an enthusiastic group of volunteers who have concentrated on developing techniques and tools to manage races for the Club racing and events that are hosted by the Club. The documentation listed from this page is some of the results of that work and is in response to the information provided by the racing yachtsmen in the Club and the port.
This year we have changed to pre-determined courses and these are being ironed out in the early part of the season. The choice of these course shapes and locations was the result of a group of racing yachtsmen reviewing a wide range of input. From the 'smoke-filled room' (I suppose that is politically incorrect and probably illegal now!), came the chosen courses. We will review them later in the year and make any improvements that seem needed.
The documentation used by the race team is held in folders on the committee boats and RIBs in an enclosed form. The Race Team documentation and sheets are available from this page using the links below.
If you want to make any comments or suggest changes, please email the Sailing Secretary with your suggestions.
Note that the Autumn Pursuit races are imminent. These races have their own SI and there are a number of suggestions to assist the Race Officers.
