RCYC CLUB LAUNCH

Members will be only too well aware of the rising costs that we are all experiencing with fuel and living generally.  The Club Launch represents a large proportion of the Club running costs in the order of £30,000 per annum.  We believe that we are one of the few clubs left in the South of England providing a launch service seven days a week throughout the season.

The House Committee and Flag Officers have come to the conclusion that it is necessary to recoup some of this cost when the facility is used by persons other than the Members.  We are, therefore, intending to ask non-members to make a donation of £2.00 per trip (there and back), and a box will be available on the launch to receive contributions.  It is intended that the scheme should start from Tuesday July 15th, 2008.

I do hope that you will all accept there is a need to defray our additional costs if we are to continue to provide this excellent service in the future.

Please use the box and do not ignore it. If anybody is feeling aggrieved by this initiative, they should take the matter up with the Flag Officers and not our boatman.
